People who developed Go learned from the mistakes that time caused to some languages and decided to keep it simple. It's an efficient language for the back-end, but you cannot really use it on the front-end. The tooling there is very limited. I associate Go as a back-end language only. I haven't really seen many packages that offer any templating to serve HTML or JS for the front-end.
A good read but a tad too much focus on how much it's similar to C (your preference).
